Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan said here on Friday that it doesn't matter if the oldest litigant of Babri Masjid Ram Janm Bhumi dispute Hashim Ansari withdraws his petition as the case will still continue.

"He is very old now, as he is more than 92-years-old, his health is also not good, and it's his frustration. We don't comment on him because he is old, but his presence or absence has nothing to do with the case, no mosque or temple is anyone's personal property. He is not the owner of the whole issue, and the case will continue even if all petitioners withdraw their case," said Khan in Rampur District of Uttar Pradesh.

He further criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for praising the move, and said, "They should be ashamed instead of being happy, that a person is disappointed with the judiciary and government. An MP said it's a country of constitution but where did this constitution go on December 6."

Earlier on Wednesday, Ansari, who has been fighting the Babri Masjid Ram Janm Bhumi case for the past 65 years, had withdrawn his petition saying that he is not interested in fighting the case anymore.

Ansari had also expressed discontent over the politicization of the issue and had said that he will not take part in the protest to mark the demolition of the structure. According to reports, he had also stated that he wants to see Ram Lalla free as it gives him a pain when he sees it in a tent.
