Bailey doesn't 'give a toss' to England's player selection for ODI series

Australian vice-captain George Bailey has said that he does not 'give a toss' to which players England has selected for the one-day series as he just wants to beat them.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Bailey made the statement in response to a query on the hosts' decision to rest captain Alastair Cook, Ian Bell, James Anderson and Graeme Swann for the five-game series.

Stating that he is focusing on playing for Australia and the players' selection for the series, Bailey, also the country's Twenty20 captain, said that he has no interest in what the opposing team (England) does, adding that with the limited overs tour of India and the return Australia series in the horizon, motivation to finish strongly is high.

According to Bailey, Australia wants to leave England on a high by winning the series and is hoping to put behind their disappointing ICC Champions Trophy campaign and an Ashes series to play some good cricket ahead of the return Ashes.

Weather permitting, the teams will meet for a belated start to the five-match series in Manchester on Sunday after the first ODI in Leeds was washed out without a ball being bowled on Friday.

However, Bailey said that the dreadful weather had allowed some time for more training and strength and conditioning work amid a busy schedule of games.
