Barcelona has lost their top spot in the La Liga following their 3-1 defeat away at Real Sociedad on Saturday, which is their third league loss of the campaign.
The Spanish giants' arch rivals Real Madrid has now taken the lead in the La Liga following their 3-0 win over Elche at home, while Atletico Madrid can join Real atop the standings and on 63 points, three more than Barcelona, if it wins on Sunday.
According to CNN, although Lionel Messi equalized in the 36th minute, two goals in a five-minute spell early in the second half from Sociedad players Alex Song, Antoine Griezmann and David Zurutuza handed the hosts- now unbeaten in four games- all three points.
Meanwhile, Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino was sent off for complaining to the referee during the game, the report added.
