A Catalan Police spokesperson has said that four suspects were shot dead, and a fifth, who was wounded and arrested, has since died, during the anti-terror operation in Spain's Cambrils after the Islamic State terrorists crashed a van into people in Barcelona's Las Ramblas district.
Six bystanders were wounded, one critically and another seriously. A police officer was also lightly injured in the counter-terror operation.
The ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, which killed at least 13 persons and left around 80 persons injured.
One of the suspects involved in the Barcelona attack was found dead in a car three kilometers from where police officers tried to stop him by firing at the vehicle he was in, reports El Pais.
However, the police are not sure if he committed suicide or was shot down in police firing.
Before ISIS claimed responsibility, the police were treating it as a terrorist attack and had arrested two men behind the incident.
A senior police official has said that two suspects arrested in Barcelona van attack are Spanish nationals from Melilla and Morocco.
One of the victims of the attack is a Belgian national, Belgium's deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders confirmed on Twitter.
