Spanish giants Barcelona are close to offering Andres Iniesta a bumper new contract at the club to negate interest from Premier League club Manchester United.
According to Metro.co.uk, Iniesta has been strongly linked with a switch to Old Trafford in recent days, with David Moyes keen to sign a top name in the January transfer window.
However, despite claims that the Spain midfielder is considering the switch, Barca is believed to be days away from offering him a new contract to stay, the report said.
It's thought the new deal would run until 2017, and replaces Iniesta's current contract, which was due to expire in 2015, the report added.
The terms would see Iniesta move into the same pay bracket as stars such as Carlos Puyol and Xavi, according to the report.
The 29-year-old was previously 'unsettled' because of his earnings, but he now looks certain to stay with Sport suggesting the deal will be signed and sealed by early December, the report mentioned.
