English cricket fans, the Barmy Army Cricket Club, had reportedly scored a series victory over their Australian counterparts, The Fantatics, in the mock series, the Bombardier Fans Ashes.
According to Metro.co.uk, the Barmy Army sealed a win in the final game of the series to take the five-match series 3-1, knocking off 145-1 as compared to the Fanatics' 144 all out, following which, the two sides set fire to the stumps and bails to produce the first Fans Ashes Urn.
The report further said that the games between the two sets of fans have taken place before each Test match in both England and Australia since 2006.
Emily Hudson, marketing manager at Wells and Young's, who own and brew Bombardier, said that the Barmy Army winning the Fans Ashes and taking home the first ever Fans Ashes Urn has added more glitter to the fantastic summer of English sport.
Hudson also said that the Fans Ashes has been just as dramatic as the professional series, with many twists and turns along the way, adding that they wanted to give the fans something memorable to play for every year.
