Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi on Saturday said a chargesheet has been filed in the alleged rape case of a 23-year-old woman by an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the Rani Bagh area of the national capital.
"Any such act by any police officer will not be condoned, strictest action will be taken. He has been arrested; a chargesheet will be filed as soon as possible. He will be dismissed," said Bassi.
"Chargesheet has been filed against him in at least two cases which I know, rest the DCP can brief you," he added.
The accused ASI Jasveer Singh, who reportedly raped the woman at gunpoint on Thursday, has been sent to 14-days' custody.
Singh, who was posted at Punjabi Bagh police station in West Delhi, went to his friend's place on Thursday night and allegedly raped his maid under the influence of alcohol.
Reports say the incident was captured in CCTV cameras and a case has been registered against the accused. The police is also trying to verify the CCTV footage.
