The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday expressed condolences on the passing away of former Test cricketer AG Milkha Singh.
"The BCCI condoles the sad demise of AG Milkha Singh, a former Test player who passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017," the board said, in a statement.
Milkha, the former Tamil Nadu batsman, passed away earlier in the day following a cardiac arrest at a hospital. He was 75.
Milkha, who belonged to a family of cricketers, was survived by wife, a son and daughter.
The former left-hander batsman had appeared in four Test matches and made his debut for India just after turning 18.
Born in Chennai, Milkha appeared in 88 first-class games for Madras (now Tamil Nadu) in Ranji Trophy. He scored 4,324 runs with eight centuries and 27 half-centuries.
He was also the first batsman to score a century in the Duleep Trophy when he struck 151 for South Zone in 1961-62.
