BCCI, PCB officials to meet in December to discuss strained bilateral cricket ties

The cricket officials of India and Pakistan's cricket authorities will be holding an important meeting on December 17 in Colombo, Sri Lanka to discuss the strained and suspended bilateral cricket ties between the two nations.

A meeting of the Asian Cricket Council is scheduled to take place in Colombo next month which will be held under the chairmanship of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shaharyar Khan. It is expected that PCB officials like board's chief executive Najam Sethi and Subhan Ahmed would be attending the meeting, reports Express Tribune.

As per sources, the PCB has decided to take up bilateral matches with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Anurag Thakur and if no positive response is received there, the PCB might consider legal options.

It is also reported that the PCB chief executive had previously held a detailed discussion with Thakur in South Africa when the former went to participate in an International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting due to unavailability of the PCB chairman.

It was at the Capetown meeting that Pakistan asked the ICC to give a ruling on India's refusal to send its women's team to Dubai for the ICC cricket league to play against Pakistan and demanding six points instead.

As a result, the ICC technical committee awarded six points to Pakistan for the series after ruling that India had forfeited the series which was to be hosted by Pakistan.

The two hostile neighbours have not played a full bilateral series after the Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008.
