BCCI proposes Sanjay Patel as secretary, Ravi Savant as treasurer

The Working Committee of the BCCI met at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, earlier

today, and took some key decisions.

In a statement issued on behalf of the BCCI, Anurag Thakur, Joint Secretary, revealed the following decisions:

I. The following appointments were proposed, for the posts of Hony. Secretary and Hony. Treasurer:

Hony. Secretary : Mr. Sanjay Patel

Hony. Treasurer : Mr. Ravi Savant

II. The Probe Commission would now consist of two retired judges:

Array

Justice R. Balasubranian

Justice Jayaram T Chouta

Array

The Commission would look into the complaints received from the IPL against:

1.Mr. Gurunath Meiyappan

2.Mr. Raj Kundra

3.The Chennai Super King Franchise

4.The Rajasthan Royals Franchise

In the meantime, Mr. Raj Kundra has been suspended pending enquiry from participation in cricket activities under the aegis of BCCI.

III. Mr. Ravi Savani, who was appointed to enquire into the alleged match-fixing and spot-fixing allegations against some players, has submitted his interim report to the Disciplinary Committee of the Board.

The Disciplinary Committee decided to issue charge sheets to the concerned players.

IV. The following tours were confirmed:

A. Indian team's tour of the West Indies in June-July 2013.

B. Indian team's tour of Zimbabwe in July-August 2013.

C. India A's tour of South Africa in August 2013.

D. India under-19 team's tour of Australia in June-July 2013,

E. India under-19 team's tour of Sri Lanka in August, 2013.

V. The Working Committee decided to take measures to clean up Indian Cricket. Suggestions will be invited from all quarters, including Franchisees, to ensure that the IPL is conducted in the best possible manner. A separate Working Committee Meeting will be held soon to finalize the action plan.
