Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG)'s captain Thiago Silva has reportedly called for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to join the club following the striker's stunning goal during the 2-2 draw in the Brazil-England game.
Rooney spoke with Silva after England's visit to the Maracana earlier this month, though Silva claimed that it was more about the match than about the transfer, the Daily Star reports.
Silva praised Rooney saying that he is a great player and has often made the difference in a game, adding that he wants to seal a deal with Rooney for PSG as he believes his arrival in the club would be a huge reinforcement.
Former footballer Dwight Yorke said that United incoming manager David Moyes' first task after officially joining the job will be to persuade Rooney to stay on at the club despite the striker's unsettlement at the club and lucrative offers at his side.
