BCCI President N. Srinivasan, facing uncomfortable questions over his son-in-law's arrest in connection with the spot-fixing scam, will convene a press meet here in the city this evening.

It is, however, not clear whether the BCCI President will announce his resignation or not. Till yesterday, Srinivasan had remained defiant on his stand of not quitting the post, claiming that he had not done anything wrong.

With the odds in the BCCI ranks in his favour it looks unlikely he will step down.

Meanwhile, former Chairman and Commissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Lalit Modi, amidst rising tensions among the cricketing fraternity clearly stated that current president of the IPL N.Srinivasan should be sacked if he continues being defiant.

Better known as the architect of the million-dollar baby IPL, he further said, "This is something that is unheard of. He has to own the fault. He is responsible and hence should resign. If he does not resign then he should be unceremoniously sacked. But more importantly are the co-conspirators who allowed this to carry on. They need to go to. It can't be that we have Srinivasan going all of a sudden."

Taking a dig at his one-time colleagues Modi further said, "We can't have a Arun Jaitley coming in, or a Rajiv Shukla coming in, or an Anurag Thakur coming in or Jyotiraditya Scindhya coming in. They are all co-conspirators. They are all politicians. They have used their clout and very clearly they have misused their machinery of the BCCI and government to facilitate it and they must go."

Going on an all-out attack he further said, "All of these people must go as they have abetted and allowed this to happen. I think the IPL should be handed over to the owners. They are the biggest constituents of the game.
