David Beckham has reportedly decided not to invest in his much-hyped London restaurant venture with his close friend Gordon Ramsay.

A source close to both parties said that the duo may be best friends, but they are also very astute businessmen and both wanted different things, the Mirror reported.

The insider asserted that the former footballer was ready to make an investment and had visited the site.

However, the pair talked long and hard and have decided not to work together on this occasion, the source insisted.

The Mediterranean-themed eatery, called Union Street Cafe, is due to open on September 16.
