While we are still unsure about the future of hit TV-series 'Sherlock', actor Benedict Cumberbatch has reaffirmed his loyalty with BBC and Masterpiece by boarding their upcoming series, 'The Child In Time'.
The project is an adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel of the same name and 'Sherlock' fame is all set to both star and be the executive producer, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
"I read the novel years ago and it stayed with me profound, beautiful and very moving. Only Ian McEwan could write about loss with such telling honesty," he says.
The 40-year-old is extremely excited to be a part of such a project.
"We're very excited to have Stephen Butchard's subtle and brilliant adaptation, and in Julian Farino we have an extraordinary director who delivers emotional truth. I'm so proud 'The Child in Time' will be the first drama produced by SunnyMarch TV," he added.
Adapted by Stephen Butchard (Five Daughters, The Last Kingdom) from McEwan's Whitbread Prize-winning novel, and directed by Julian Farino (Marvellous, Entourage), 'The Child in Time' is a lyrical and heart-breaking exploration of love, loss and the power of things unseen.
This will be the first ever project to come from Cumberbatch's banner, SunnyMarch TV.
On a related note, Benedict Cumberbatch will next be seen in 'Avengers: Infinity War', scheduled to be released on April 25, 2018.
