It was Beyonce who kicked off the star-studded 2016 BET awards with a bang and stunned everyone with her surprise performance alongside Kendrick Lamar.
Standing in a giant pool of water and surrounded by dancers bathed in a red light, the 34-year-old singer performed her song 'Freedom,' from her latest album 'Lemonade', reports E! Online
29-year-old Lamar, who's featured on the track, joined the 'Halo' hit- on the show-stopping performance and rapped his verse.
An insider revealed that BET had been planning the surprise for a bit but kept it secret from the network until this weekend.
The star-studded award ceremony was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
