Indian Overseas Congress will organise a series of protests outside the Indian embassies across the world to highlight the problem of unemployment, slump in economy, and distressed farmers in the country.
"People of Indian origin living abroad are worried about the situation of the country. The economic slump is due to the wrong policies of the government. Overseas Indians for distressed farmers and unemployed youth will demonstrate their support outside the Indian embassy," said Indian Overseas Congress secretary Virendra Vasistha, while speaking to ANI.
Vasistha said the demonstrations of Indian Overseas Congress will be in support of the Bharat Bachao Rally, which the Congress party is holding in the national capital on Saturday to exercise pressure on the Centre to take right decisions in favour of the countrymen.
Sam Pitroda, a close confidant of Rahul Gandhi and head of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) will supervise these protests, protests will be held in America, England, Australia, New Zealand, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
According to the schedule released by the IOC, there will be a demonstration outside the Indian embassy in New York on December 14 at 1 pm. Also, there will be a demonstration outside the Indian embassy in London at 3 pm.
There will be protests in Sydney, Melbourne in Australia on December 14 at 12 noon. Simultaneous demonstrations will be held in New Zealand as well. In Germany and Saudi Arabia, the protests will take place on December 14 at 12 noon.
There is a demonstration in Oman at 7 pm on December 13 and also in Dublin, Ireland, at 11 am on December 13.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will address the Bharat Bachao rally at Ram Lila Maidan in the national capital on December 14.
