India have brushed aside rumours surrounding the fitness of seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, saying that both are 'very much available' for the selection in Sunday's World Cup group stage tie against South Africa in Melbourne.
Earlier, doubts reportedly started mounting after Kumar had a lackluster training session in Melbourne on Wednesday, while Ashwin was hit by a Umesh Yadav delivery during net session.
Reflecting on the reports, team media manager Dr.Baba said that they were receiving so many calls from media about R. Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's fitness, adding that both players were very much available for selection for the match against South Africa, Sport24 reported.
While India opened their World Cup campaign with registering a 76-run victory over Pakistan in Adelaide, South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by 62 runs in Hamilton.
