A Bihar Military Police (BMP) jawan died, while six others were injured during an encounter with liquor smugglers in Samastipur last night.
The deceased BMP jawan has been identified as Anil Kumar Singh.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby private hospital for further treatment.
Around 40 rounds of firing were reported between the police and liquor traders.
The unloading of liquor containers was underway when the police reached the spot and the encounter took place.
