The locals in Kargahar area of Bihar's Rohtas held a protest against the alleged rape of a six-year-old, on Wednesday.
In a show of solidarity with the supporters, the shop-owners in Kargahar Market shut down their shops too.
According to police, the accused in the case has been arrested, but the enraged locals have been demanding a death sentence for him.
The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday evening, when the victim was playing outside her house. The accused lured her into his house with chocolate.
In a search launched by her family, she was later in the day found in a critical condition.
The child was rescued and the accused was arrested by the Police.
Presently, the victim is battling for her life at Sasaram Sadar Hospital.
