The annual letter from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, chaired by the Microsoft co-founder and former chief executive and his wife, predicts a list of breakthroughs in global health and development by 2030.
According to News.com.au, the latest letter outlines four "major breakthroughs" - in health, farming, banking and education - that Bill and Melinda Gates believe will drastically change the world by 2030.
The letter predicted that while lives of people in rich countries will continue to change with technological advances, people in poor countries will experience a radical change in the quality of life.
Meanwhile, child mortality rate will fall to half of what it is today and some of the major diseases will be eradicated and there would be no more food crisis in Africa.
The duo said in the letter that they believed health equity is an achievable goal.
They predicted that access to existing technologies as well as fertiliser and crops, that are more productive, nutritious and drought- and disease-resistant, could double the yield of African farmers.
They further said that education is a great leveler, adding that if the factors that holds girls back are not addressed, and if access to education isn't equal, then education will become another cause of inequity, rather than a cure for it, the report added.
