Bill Nye 'the Science Guy' has recently claimed that the teaching of creationism over evolution could create a generation of "less intelligent" youngsters who "can't think."

The 59-year-old worries that forcing children to believe the world was only 6,000 years old would prevent them from thinking critically, CNet reported.

Nye, calling it a uniquely America problem, said that humans are becoming better and better at making artificial beings, but they still aren't terribly sure how this world came about.

The evangelicals adults are to be blamed who have very strong conservative views and who are reluctant to let kids learn about evolution, he further added.

The American science educator further mentioned that adults who hold fundamentalist views often end up on school boards debating acceptable textbooks and curriculum and pushing for the teaching of creationism over evolution, which was holding the kids back and it was even more troubling because it's happening in the world's most technologically advanced society.

Nye further concluded that when kids, who are taught about creationism, would leave school they would not be able to participate in the future in the same way as children who learn about evolution.
