The Congress Party on Saturday said both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are insensitive about women safety, and are shying away from taking responsibility to prevent it.

"Both Kejriwal and Modi ji, before the elections, had said that Delhi is a rape capital and that's why, they should be brought into power to provide security to women. But the present situation in the country has reached such level where minors are being raped," All India Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza told ANI.

"Both the BJP and AAP are insensitive on women safety and are just busy blaming each other," she added.

The issue of women safety once again bubbled up after two minor girls, one aged two-and-a-half, and the other aged five, were gang-raped in separate incidents, and are presently in a critical state.

In the first case, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was raped allegedly by two men who abducted her on a motorbike from outside her house in west Delhi's Nangloi area on Friday.

In the second case, a five-year-old was raped allegedly by three men in east Delhi's Anand Vihar area. The girl was reportedly alone at home when one of the accused, her neighbor, took her to his house and then allegedly raped her along with his friends.

Earlier this month, the Delhi Police came up with some startling figures on redressal of crimes against women in the national capital. In response to a query put up by Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson, Swati Maliwal, the police have revealed that 7,124 FIRs have been lodged of atrocities on women till August 2015, out of which only one case was decided.

Similarly, in 2014, 11,209 such FIRs were lodged, of which only nine of the accused were convicted. In 2013, the figure stood at 65 for 9,271 FIRs.
