The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday blamed the Congress for the missing pages in the file that pertains to Robert Vardra's land deal case and pointed out that the coal gate scam files had also gone missing during the former UPA regime.

"We have seen in the past also that how the coal gate scam files had gone missing. This is the nature of Congress, first they commit the crime of corruption and then the essential files and pages go missing," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI here.

Patra further said that a committee has been set up to investigate this matter and added that stringent action would be taken against those responsible.

"The Secretary of the Haryana Government has assured that an investigating committee has been set up and within 10 days we will know as to who are responsible for the missing files, action will be taken against them," he added.

According to reports, some pages from the official files pertaining to the controversial DLF-Robert Vadra deal have gone missing. This was revealed after IAS officer Ashok Khemka, who had blown the lid off the alleged land scam, received a copy of the file through a Right to Information (RTI) petition.

Khemka had earlier alleged that he was being persecuted for challenging the land deals involving Vadra. The senior bureaucrat has been in the news since October 2012 for canceling the mutation of Vadra's DLF land deal.
