Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday praised the rail budget for the year 2015-16 on twitter, terming it 'transformative', 'balanced' and 'growth oriented'
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh posted that the budget will push the sector towards the 'right track', crediting Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu for the plan via a series of tweets.
"I congratulate the @RailMinIndia Shri @sureshpprabhu on presenting a balanced and growth oriented Rail Budget for 2015-16."
"By increasing investments to improve infrastructure and passenger amenities the Rail Budget has pushed the Railways back on the right track."
"Rail Budget underscores our government's plan to make the Railways more consumer-focused and passenger friendly.Prabhuji deserves credit for it."
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore felt that the budget has touched upon all major issues faced by rail passengers.
"#RailBudget2015 Highlights imp. for people's perspective:Focus on passenger amenities,safety,transparency and system improv.with no fare hike," he posted.
Meanwhile, the BJP's chief ministerial candidate in the recently held Delhi Assembly polls, Kiran Bedi, opined that the budget had presented a 'robust professional management' to the Railways sector via a series of tweets.

Earlier in the day, Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu had presented his maiden budget in the Parliament, stating that the sector has to undergo a transformation over the next five years.
He said the proposed investment in railways will be Rs. 8,56,020 crores by 2019.
The thrust of the Railways is to become a prime mover of the economy once again, act as a resource mobilisation for higher investments, decongestion of heavy haul routes and speeding up of trains, emphasis on gauge conversion, doubling, tripling and electrification.
The minister also announced that Wi-Fi would be provided at 'B' category stations.
