There was vandalism outside the Patiala House Court here on Monday, where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA O.P. Sharma beat up an unidentified man.
The incident took place when Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union president Kanhaiya Kumar was produced in the court.
Talking to the media, the BJP legislator said that those raising anti-India slogans would not be spared.
"We will beat those who will chant anti-India slogans," he said.
When asked if they had taken the onus of patriotism, he replied in affirmation.
Even though he was seen beating an unidentified man, he said, "We were trying to catch hold of the one who was raising pro-Pakistan slogans. We were not beating them.
