BJP MLC arrested for trying to molest minor on-board train

Government Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday arrested Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Tunnaji Pandey and also slapped an FIR against him for allegedly molesting a teenage girl on-board a train.

Hajipur Government Railway Police, officer in-charge Sanjay Singh said the BJP MLC was arrested on the basis of a written complaint by father of the girl.

"The minor girl was sleeping in a train berth and Tunna ji tried and molested her. He also tried to take her to the bathroom after which she screamed and alerted her father about the incident," said Singh.

"Tuna ji was coming from Durgapur and he was going to Hajipur. He had a body guard with him. The alleged incident took place near Sarai railway station on Muzaffarpur-Haijipur section of East Central Railway," he added.

The BJP MLC however denied the allegation and said, "I was just taking out my phone charger, didn't even know whether it was a girl who was sleeping or a boy. When I switched the lights on by mistake while trying to take out my charger, the girl shouted that I was misbehaving with her".
