BJP questions Rahul Gandhi's prolonged absence

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday said the Congress party needs to tell the country and party members the reason behind Rahul Gandhi's prolonged absence from the Parliament and politics.

"It's important for the Congress party to tell this country and party members as to what is causing this kind of a prolonged stay away from the parliament and politics," Narasimha told ANI here.

Narasimha added that the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi have a public duty to perform and his long absence is raising a lot of speculations.

"There are media reports that Rahul Gandhi wants to take over the reins of the Congress leadership, whereas Congress President Sonia Gandhi is not ready to handover the presidency to him yet," he added.

Narasimha further stated that the prolonged holiday for Rahul Gandhi shows that there is complete commotion in the first family of the Congress party.

According to reports, the Congress vice president was expected to be back in the national capital by Tuesday but has extended his leave till the end of this week.
