Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) V. Narayanswamy on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is rattled at Congress led government's decision to appoint a judge to probe the Snoopgate scandal involving BJP prime ministerial frontrunner Narendra Modi.

Yesterday, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the government would soon appoint a judge to probe the snooping scandal that involves Modi.

Narayanswamy said that there was something mysterious about BJP leader Arun Jaitley's reluctance in accepting the decision of the government to appoint a judge.

"Why is Arun Jaitley jumping the gun? He says that when they come to power, they will take action if you appoint a judge,. That means that there is something fishy in it. Therefore I would like to say very clearly that the BJP is rattled by the Home Minister saying that we are going to appoint a judge," said Narayanswamy.

The incumbent - Congress led UPA Government- may reportedly approach the Allahabad High Court seeking the services of a sitting judge to head the commission of enquiry. The Government plans to complete this process before the outcome of this election.

Yesterday, Jaitley had said that he would be taken aback if any judge agrees to probe into Narendra Modi-led Gujarat government's alleged illegal surveillance on a woman architect.
