BJP-ruled states have worst law and order: Akhilesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday trained his guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi while alleging that the states where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is in power have the worst law and order situation.

Akhilesh further hit out at Prime Minister saying that the latter should do 'kaam ki baat' instead of 'mann ki baat'

"I heard his Mann Ki Baat on radio and even on TV but could not get what he wants to say. He should do kaam ki baat and no more mann ki baat," Akhilesh said at a rally in Banda.

Akhilesh further questioned the development and work agenda of the BJP saying that if the party has done anything then they should come up in public and give account of their work.

Hinting at BJP-BSP alliance, Akhilesh said: "BJP and Bahujan Samaj Party have many times celebrated the festival of 'Raksha Bandhan' (alliance) so there is a possibility that our aunty (Mayawati) may join hands with BJP."

Asserting that the Samajwadi Party's pre-poll alliance with the Congress is aimed at defeating communal forces, Akhilesh yesterday in an indirect attack on his uncle and bete noire Shivpal Yadav said that some forces within the party made desperate attempts to create a feud between him and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav for vested interests.

"We allied with the Congress to defeat communal forces.We have a big heart. We want to form the government in the state," he said at a rally in Barabanki.

Akhilesh also took a dig at BSP, saying uncontrollable elephant will do more damage to Uttar Pradesh.

With two phases of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections already being held, the third phase will be conducted on February 19.

A turnout of over 65 per cent was recorded in 67 Assembly constituencies across 11 districts of western Uttar Pradesh, in the second phase of the crucial state poll.

40 seats of the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly will go to polls in the final phase on March 8.
