The Congress Party on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should approach the Supreme Court on the issue of its suspended MP Kirti Azad alleging that lots of companies were given crores of rupees by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and that it should ask for an apex court-monitored probe.

"If Mr.Azad and his band of merrymen are serious, then the appropriate things for them to do would be to approach the Supreme Court and ask for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation, because, given the influence of the people involved, nothing less than a Supreme Court-monitored investigation is going to unearth the truth," Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI here.

The BJP suspended Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad on Wednesday.

The party issued a terse letter in the evening stating, "For anti-party activities, Shri Kirti Azad, MP, Darbhanga, is with immediate effect suspended from the party."
