Shiv Sena leader Anil Desai has said that BJP will decide who will be the next chief minister of Maharashtra as it is the single largest party in the state.
The Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena Secretary said that the people of Maharashtra have given their mandate.
It is now the responsibility of both the BJP and the Shiv Sena to begin official talks to ensure government formation, he added.
The Shiv Sena leadership had earlier this week sent Anil Desai and Subhash Desai to New Delhi for initial discussions with BJP leaders, which were termed as positive.
Desai said that once the BJP leaders returned to Delhi from their respective places post-Diwali celebrations, both parties would begin official talks on government formation.
