The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Porbandar, Banaskantha Lok Sabha seats on Wednesday, giving a major boost to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Elections for these two Lok Sabha by-poll seats were held on Sunday.
Meanwhile, counting continues for four state Assembly seats. Early trends suggest that BJP candidates are leading against their nearest Congress rivals.
The by-polls are being seen as a litmus test for the Congress, as all six seats were held by it.
The ruling BJP and the opposition Congress have expressed confidence about winning these by-elections, though the voter turnout has been average.
For the Porbandar and Banaskantha Lok Sabha seats, 30 and 37 percent voting was registered respectively.
For the assembly seats of Limbadi, Morva Hadaf, Dhoraji and Jetpur 62 percent, 64 percent, 33 percent and 45 percent voting was recorded.
