The Sub Divisional Magistrate of Bokaro issued a non-bailable arrest warrant (NBW) against BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Wednesday for his alleged controversial speech at a public rally at Vaishali on April 18.
Amit Shekhar issued the NBW this morning and a police party has been sent to Patna to arrest Singh.
Meanwhile in a another development, the Suburban Collector of Mumbai has filed a case against Shiv Sena Leader Ramdas Kadam for his hate speech during the Sena-BJP rally in Mumbai on Monday night.
The rally was attended by BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
The complaint was lodged at the Bandra Kurla complex police station on charges of promoting enmity between groups of people on the basis of caste and religion.
The collector has also sent his report about the speech to the Election Commission.
During his speech, former MLA Kadam had referred to the rioting between the police and Muslim groups in Azad Maidan in 2012.
The Shiv Sena, however, has distanced itself from Kadam's speech.
