Bookmakers had reportedly put Atletico Madrid at a whopping 6560-1 odds to secure a double triumph of the La Liga and the Champions League title at the start of the season.
According to Metro.co.uk, this was the price being quoted by some bookmakers back in August, with Diego Simeone's side outsiders for both domestic and European honours.
However, the report mentioned that due to the goals of Diego Costa and the goalkeeping of Thibaut Courtois, Atletico stands on the brink of a sensational double, having clinched the Spanish title ahead of Barcelona with a 1-1 draw at the Nou Camp last Saturday.
