Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea knocked out of the Aegon Championships after suffering defeat in the men's doubles event at Queen's Club here.
The Indo-Romanian pair failed to capitalize on their first-set win and went on to suffer a 6-3, 3-6, 10-12 defeat in the opening round at the hands of French pair of Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
In the men's singles event, top-seed Andy Murray advanced to the second round of the tournament after brushing aside in-form Nicolas Mahut of France 7-6 (10-8), 7-6 (7-1).
The world number two will now lock horns with countryman Alijaz Bedene, who made it to the next round after beating Benoit Paire 7-6 (6), 6-7 (7), 6-4.
The Queen's club grass-court tournament is a tune up event for the third major of the season namely Wimbledon.
