England allrounder Ravi Bopara has urged Alastair Cook to stay on as captain, saying the whole player group fully supports the under-siege 29-year-old.
Cook had reportedly said that he would reconsider his leadership after the team's dismal show in the Ashes and ODI series.
Bopara said despite the team's horrible results this summer, Cook remained the best man for the job.
Speaking ahead of the fourth ODI against Australia at the WACA Ground on Friday, he said Cook should not doubt his capabilities, and asked him to continue as skipper in both formats.
Bopara said Cook's spirits remained high despite the horrible nature of their winless tour, The AAP reports.
A possibility of Cook stepping aside as captain of the One Day International couldn't be ruled out owing to his demeanor after his side's eighth straight loss to Australia.
