Chief of Army staff General Dalbir Singh on Tuesday said that India's border with China is peaceful and added that the law and order situation in the north east is also stable.

"The border with China is peaceful and we are following a policy of constructive engagement with them. The counter, the CVMS, have been very effective. We are also engaged in army-to-army exchanges which has enhanced the mutual understanding, because of which, the contentious issues which are there, it is easy to solve," said the army chief.

"In the northeast, the situation is stable in the law and order domain. Also, the people-friendly operations are being conducted by us basically to compliment the development initiatives being taken by the government," he added.
