In an otherwise gloomy performance by England in the Ashes series, the only bright spark was seen in Ben Stokes, who proved himself to be a Test match class cricketer.
In his column for the Mirror, Ian Botham said that Stokes' knock throughout the match even as the team as a whole was in shambles.
Botham, in his column, further said that the Aussies tried to intimidate Stokes and unnerve him but he has stayed strong in both of his first two Test matches.
He noted that Stokes' bowling has been good, his pace has been up, his attitude has been spot on and his batting had been outstanding.
The columnist further pointed that Stokes would play a lot of Test match cricket for England but he will take a lot from this series and use it in going forward.
