Brazilian media blames Mick Jagger for 'biggest WC defeat in history

The Brazilian media is blaming The Rolling Stones' lead vocalist Mick Jagger for Luiz Felipe Scolari's squad's biggest World Cup defeat in their history.

Brazil lost 7-1 to Germany in the World Cup semifinal and the Brazilian media has blamed the singer for the same.

According to The Mirror, Jagger was spotted in the crowd at the Mineirao stadium in Belo Horizonte supporting the hosts with his Brazilian son Lucas.

Jagger was reportedly sharing a VIP box with Kia Joorabchian, who is the Iranian agent of a number of Brazil squad players, including goalkeeper Julio Cezar, David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar.

Brazil football team fans have reportedly nicknamed the Rolling Stones frontman 'pe frio', which is a term for a person who brings bad luck, because every time Jagger has announced his support for a team, that teams goes on to lose.

Jagger reportedly told fans during a show in Rome that Italy would beat Uruguay and advance to the knockout phases, but the Italians lost and were eliminated from the tournament.

The singer then told fans in Lisbon that Portugal would win the World Cup and they too were eliminated.

And then he rooted for England against Uruguay, which saw Rooney and company being humiliated by two Suarez goals.

It is not the first time that the Brazilians have believed Jagger's support has been a curse for the national side as during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Brazilians decided that their team lost to the Netherlands in the quarter finals because he wore a Brazil shirt to the game, the report added.
