The pig that was smuggled into the Gabba on day one of the first Ashes Test has spent the weekend settling into his new home, according to reports.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the porker, named Ash, was carried into the Gabba in a baby harness with his snout taped shut on November 21 as his plight touched the hearts of a Brisbane couple, who rang the RSPCA and offered to take the pig.
The couple has requested not to be named in order to shield Ash, whose ordeal garnered international media attention, from prying eyes, the report said.
Ash spent the weekend settling into his own tin and timber hut on the couple's acreage in the city's east, after being formally adopted last Thursday, the report added.
He has made a new friend in the family's dog and has also taken a liking to dried liver treats, the report further said.
His new owner said that everyone he meets just falls in love with him and he is gorgeous and adorable.
