BSE closes 37.07 points down, NIFTY down 11.35 points

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 37.07 points down to stand at 28,171.69.

The National Stock Exchange (NIFTY) closed 11.35 points down to stand at 8,510.80.

J P Infratec and Welcorp were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 10.93 percent and 10 percent along with Monsanto and L and T Finance Holdings Ltd with an increase of 8.16 percent and 8.05 percent respectively.

The top losers of Group A include Muthoot Finance Ltd and PMCFIN with a decrease of 4.19 percent and 3.94 percent along with Engineers India Ltd and Shriram City Union Finance Ltd. with a decrease of 3.88 percent and 3.33 percent at the close of the markets.

The auto sector today went down by 52.17 points at 18,970.83, while the banking sector was down 39.09 points at 21,572.94.

The realty sector ended up by 12.77 points at 1,447.14

The Indian currency, however, went down by 0.07 percent to be pegged at Rs 63.44 to the dollar.
