McLaren driver Jenson Button is of the opinion that Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes team would not be caught for at least another three months in the Formula One championship this season.

Button feels that the runaway world champion leaders will roll into the Silverstone Grand Prix in July still dominating it over the rest in the Formula One title race.

According to the Mirror, the Mercedes team has won all the four races so far this season and will now head into Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix hoping to win it too.

Hamilton might reportedly offer a giant pointer to his future if he can nail down a fourth successive victory on his Barcelona bogey track, as nineteen drivers have done the same in the sport's 65 years and not one has failed to go on and win the world title.

Button said that Formula One would have to wait until the second half of this season to see if anyone can make significant inroads into Mercedes' one second advantage, adding that McLaren is bringing in updates all the time but for any team to find a second is a big ask over the next couple of races.

Button added that they are miles behind the Mercedes but they are in good little scrap with five other teams.

The Spanish Grand Prix would be an important race as the twisting Barcelona track favors the Red Bull team and the track would be a crucial-indicator to who, if anyone, can challenge Hamilton, the report added.
