Cabinet approves appointment of Prakash Mishra as CRPF Director General

The Union Cabinet on Saturday approved the appointment of Special Secretary in the Union Home Ministry Prakash Mishra as the new Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Earlier, Mishra who is a 1977-batch IPS officer from Odisha cadre was cleared for the post by a high-powered committee headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The post of CRPF Director General had been lying vacant since Dilip Trivedi retired on November 30.
