Cameron Diaz believes 'timing' is secret to great relationship

Cameron Diaz has open up about her thoughts on love and the mistakes she has made in past relationships.

The 42-year-old actress, who neither confirmed nor denied the possibility that she's engaged to rocker Benji Madden, said in an interview that people have to find someone else in the same place as they are, People Magazine reported.

The 'Sex Tape' star added that "timing is everything" since if someone gets into a relationship where she wants something the guy doesn't want, it's never gonna work because she is never going to get him to be in that place.

Diaz added that no matter how old one gets, finding the guy who's in the same place as she is and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.

Diaz, who has made headlines in the past for relationships with Alex Rodriguez and Justin Timberlake, states that people make the same mistake over and over again until they learn their lesson.

She further mentioned that girls, who look and seem different, but deep down, they're the same, sometimes do the thing where they pick the same person over and over again.
