Cazorla threatens to quit Arsenal if club fails to end nine-yr trophy drought

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has reportedly threatened to quit the Premier League side if they fail to win trophies following the side's crashing out of the Champions League and their fierce battle to finish in the top four of their home league.

The Spaniard, who joined from Malaga in 2012 and signed a new three-year contract at Arsenal only three weeks ago, has revealed his frustration as Arsenal lost 6-0 at Chelsea, and were hammered again 3-0 at top-four rivals Everton.

According to the Daily Express, ahead of the club's FA Cup semi-final clash with Wigan, Cazorla has accused his teammates of lacking a winning mentality, adding that he will reevaluate his contract after it ends two years later and choose the best option if the team fails to end their nine-year trophy drought.

Fearing that Arsenal lacks the character to deliver, Cazorla also said that they need to look forward as Arsenal has always been a historic club, adding that the club need more top players to stay competitive with their rivals.

Arsenal broke their transfer record in the summer to sign Ozil from Real Madrid for 42.5 million pounds, the report added.
