CBDT extends date for public response to PoEM

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to extend the period for receiving comments and suggestions of stakeholders and general public on the draft guiding principles for the determination of the Place of Effective Management (PoEM) of a company-reg.

A CBDT media release said the last day for submitting comments and suggestions will now be January 9, 2016, as opposed to the previous date of January 2, 2016.

The draft guiding principles for determination of Place of Effective Management (PoEM), as stated in the Explanatory Memorandum to the Finance Bill, 2015; were formulated and uploaded on the Finance Ministry website (www.finmin.nic.in) and website of the Income-tax Department (www.incometaxindia.gov.in) for comments from stakeholders and general public.

Representations requesting for extension of the last day for submitting comments and suggestions were received and considered.

Accordingly, the comments and suggestion on the above draft guidance may now be sent at the email address (dirtpl1@nic.in) or by post at the following address with "Comments on draft Guidance on POEM" written on the envelop To The Director (Tax Policy & Legislation)-I, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Room No. 147-D, North Block, New Delhi - 110001.
