The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested Sub Inspector of Delhi Police Vijay Kumar, posted at Krishna Nagar police station, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.20 lakhs.

Kumar had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh initially from the complainant in lieu of not implicating him in some false extortion case.

After negotiation, the sub-inspector settled for a bribe of Rs 2 lakh.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the sub-inspector red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant.

Search is on at the office and resident of the accused.

The arrested accused will be produced on Friday before a Delhi court.
