The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against Teesta Setalvad's organisation in a case related to alleged FCRA violations by Setalvad's organisation.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had filed an official complaint against Setalvad, accusing her of receiving funds from abroad without taking permission from the MHA.
The MHA had in July 2015 referred a CBI probe in the matter after which anti-corruption probe agency had registered a case and had even raided Teesta Setalvad's house in Juhu, Mumbai.
The FIR, filed by the CBI, was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections pertaining to criminal conspiracy and sections of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010, and FCRA, 1976.
