The Central Government has increased the Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) entitlement of Uttar Pradesh from 667 crore rupees to 818.17 crore rupees in 2013-14.
The Panchayati Raj Ministry has asked the state government to submit the annual plan by June 25 so that funds could be released.
The BRGF scheme of the center is running in 35 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Last year, the state could not get its share as the government had ordered a probe into the anomalies allegedly committed during the Mayawati regime and had stopped the work being done under BRGF in the beneficiary districts.
According to reports, the UP government has directed the District Project Committees, to submit district plans so that a compiled annual plan can be sent to the Central government to avail funds.
