Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has been fined but luckily not suspended, for slow over-rate following their victory over Sri Lanka that propelled them into semi finals of the Champions Trophy.
Pakistan has been fined for a slow over-rate following their win over Sri Lanka in Cardiff.
The fine was imposed for Pakistan being one over short of completing their bowling innings within the scheduled period, following which captain Ahmed was docked 20 per cent of his match fee, while the rest of the team docked 10 per cent, reports cricket.com.au.
This means, Sarfraz will be available for Wednesday's crucial semi-final clash with England.
However, Sarfraz will be on notice for the semi-final and if Pakistan exceed their allotted time period in that match and win, he could be suspended for the tournament decider.
The Pakistani pace attack got through 36.2 of the 49.2 overs, taking all 10 wickets between them for just the fifth time in the country's ODI history.
Sarfraz led from the front as he smashed an unbeaten half-century to guide Pakistan to a three-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their do-or-die Champions Trophy fixture at the Sophia Gardens on Monday.
Chasing a target of 237 runs to win in the virtual quarterfinal clash, Pakistan held their nerve to come out victorious in this knockout encounter.
